Here are some frequently asked questions about using a Blue Badge Guide. If your question is still not answered, please call us during office hours on 0207 403 1115 or email us and we’ll do our best to help.

How many people can be in a group?
Certain sites limit the number of people in a group. Likewise, certain areas constrain group numbers due to pavement widths etc. As a guideline a walking tour would normally be in the region of 25 people. Please discuss this with your Guide.

Is the price the same irrespective of the size of group?
Yes, the Guide will charge the same fee whether there are 2 or 20 people in your group. Any entrance fees are not included in the Guides rates.

I only need a Guide for two hours. How much will that be?
Guides charge on a minimum of a four hourly basis so the fee will be the same whether you book them for 1 hour or 4 hours.

How far in advance do I need to book?
We have over 1800 members nationwide so we should always be able to help you find a Guide. If, however, you need a language guide or have a very specialist request we would recommend you give as much notice as possible.

How do I book the Guide?
Using the ‘Find A Guide’ facility on our website you will be able to filter your search to find the best Guide for your needs. Every member has their contact details on their own web page and you can either call or email them directly.

How do I pay the Guide?
Most Guides accept payment by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Very few guides have the facility to accept credit card payments. Please ask the Guide for their terms & conditions.

Is VAT included?
Most Guides are not VAT registered. Please check directly with your Guide at the time of booking.

Do your Guides speak different languages?
Amongst our membership we have Guides who qualified to Guide in over 32 different languages.
